Background
As a UX prototyping intern at Wix, I created code-based environments to behave, look, and feel just like the real product. The purpose of the prototypes is for designers to understand how their product would run once live and to optimize the process of creating user-friendly websites. I worked at the intersection of UX and code in order to bridge the gap between design and development.
Task
Create an internal database of prototypes for well-designed websites through best-in-class wire-framing, visual mockups, and usability knowledge. With this website Wix’s employees have comprehensive access to the many prototypes available from my team allowing them to innovate further.
Approach
As the only intern in the Tel Aviv office due to COVID, I was responsible for building Wix’s prototype site using the company’s beta version of their Editor X platform along with providing valuable feedback about the platform. I learned and used Wix’s integrated development environment together with JavaScript to build a website that combined the prototype API, the website database, and the front-end code. At the end of my internship, the website was fully functional, including the ability to update any prototypes based on the API.
